“America’s Fastest-Dying Cities”

Posted by SCapozzola on November 9th, 2009

Forbes Magazine has reported on the “Fastest Dying Cities.”  And you know what, they all have one thing in common.

But first, here are the “worst” cities: In Ohio– Youngstown, Canton, Dayton, and Cleveland. In Michigan–Detroit and Flint.

Anyone want to guess what all these cities have in common?  They used to have strong manufacturing employment.  Ohio has lost more than 292,000 manufacturing jobs since 2000, and Michigan has shed more than 335,000 factory jobs in that time.  As these jobs have left, entire communities have been decimated.

For the U.S. economy to regain its footing, we need to create good-paying jobs for the 21st Century.  Learn more about ‘Building the New Economy’ by clicking here.
