Last Thursday, the Alliance for American Manufacturing and the Institute for America’s Future held a very successful conference entitled “Making It in America: Building the New Economy.”  Speakers included AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka, USW President Leo Gerard, US Steel Chairman and CEO John Surma, Gov. Ed Rendell (D-PA), and Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH), as well as other policy makers, economists, and labor leaders.
