Treasury declines to cite China on currency
Posted by SCapozzola on July 8th, 2010Brief statement from Alliance for American Manufacturing (AAM) Executive Director Scott Paul regarding the Treasury Department’s announcement that it will NOT cite China for currency manipulation:
“Claiming China doesn’t manipulate its currency makes about as much sense as saying LeBron James doesn’t play basketball.
“It’s clear that China’s announcement before the G-20 last month was nothing more than a charade, but the Administration seems to have fallen for this rather unbelievable promise.
“Congress must pass strong legislation to address China’s currency manipulation so that America’s workers and businesses can compete on a level playing field.
“We will never double exports unless we stop China’s cheating.
“This is a step backward.”

I, for one, am shocked. Everyone says China cheats, everyone knows China cheats, everyone is afraid of China’s power, and then the US does not stand up to them. It makes no sense. (By the way, http://www.computerworld.com has an article today on how China is going to dominate the future technologically).
I just can not believe that the people we elected are more concerned with the global economy than the US economy. It is almost as if the DemoRepublicat lawyers that run the country are more interested in feeling important or attending fundraising wine-tastings than they are in getting sweat on their brows and eating hamburgers with other hard working Americans.
Since I know the DemoRepublicats are true and great Americans, I guess I’ll just assume that it is the water in DC or something. Or perhaps a disease you get from being around lots of hot air and money-grubbers.
As I have said before, if you really want to see some change, you must call for nationwide wildcat strikes by every last single remaining (all 3 of them) factories in the US. The workers know that they are being betrayed by all forms of power (unions included). The PhD’s on CNN will just say that this will shut down the factories faster, but may as well go out with a bang… You could think about demonstrating at the Chinese embassy, but that would be too dangerous since US troops would probably be defending it.
Thanks for listening!
